I recently received this from Baker Book House, and I cannot wait to get started! After reading a sample of this book, I was immediately intrigued. It had a rawness, which is easy to relate to, that endeared it immensely! I plan to dive in tonight; I will keep you posted!
One Thousands Gifts, by Ann Voskamp
This book was a part of a bible study that I participate in weekly. I’ll admit, the beginning was tough to get through. It awakened some very terrorizing fears that had stifled my relationship with God. However, through the journey of this book, I experienced a shift of perspective. No longer was I seeing the world through threatened eyes, but as someone who was wholly loved by our Lord, and could, regardless of situation, see the beauty of His creation all around me. I did start a “thankful” list, and although skeptical of what the change in my attitude could actually accomplish, I was and continue to be, encouraged in my faith through the moments I experience during this purposeful time of life that God has called me to… and I hope you will be as well!
